The Dark Knight...
watched it the other night with Amy. Brought Chloe out for the last minutes of it -the part whereby he -The Batman- takes the heat/the fall, -and as Gary Oldman explains- "because we have to chase him", "because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now", "so we'll hunt him, because he can take it", "because he's not our hero, he's a silent guardian", "a watchful protector"... and from that night forward:
Chloe has taken to calling her daddy, "The Dark Knight".
Amy rolls her eyes at this, no matter how much we try and convince her that those last minutes of that particular movie couldn't have been conceived had it not been for my very existence.
See for yourself:
Keep Ridin'... Always

Yes, don't we all just love those days of actually being someone's hero.
When my daughter was very little she called to my wife one day to come and look at the TV because daddy was on. My wife ran into the room to find her watching Superman flying through the alr. Pretty funny.
Then things change, and they become adolescents, and suddenly see only your flaws and weaknesses. It's very humbling.
But then, it seems, things change again. Now that adorable little tyke turns 21 next month and has been serving in the Air Force for 3 years.
And guess what?
Now she's MY hero!
