Well my good friend: fellow skin-pounder, technical wizard, engineering guru and all-around good guy... Bob Brown has gone and done it again.
We talked in Feb or early March of 2005 about a custom bicycle for my wife Amy as an Anniversary Gift.
A lot of that discussion and the subsequent results of that discussion has been outlined in an entry or two on the blog...
and...
Well, the end is almost here. Between Bob's ultra busy schedule [work, getting marred, a HUGE home renovation, building bikes, painting bikes, having some semblance of a "home/personal life", let alone being a newlywed], setbacks, me changing my mind 4,989,132,051,001 times about things [and more] and my waffling on a "paint scheme" for months... we, him, I-are somehow-almost done.
We thought it would be next to impossible to do this and get this result [and when Bob thinks something ain't gonna work, it's usually Game/Set/Match] but it turned out not to be so...
Thank Green Onions!!
Bob rocks ALL.
I should have photos of the frame sometime this week... stay tuned for more.

That's friggan awesome. How did he do that?

Scott,
It's painted to look like copper? I mean, it's not REALLY copper, right? Couldn't be. Too soft I would think. It would turn all green like Lady Liberty. That might be cool though.
I'm confused.

No, it IS Copper.

It's a complete One-Of-A-Kind, that's for sure.
Good to see you around Greg [and Bone too]!

Every bike has gotta have a name.
Howsabout "Lady Liberty"?
Bob is a genius.

So the clear coat over the plating will prevent it from oxidizing and developing a lovely green patina?
Nice gift, Scott.

Very, very cool! What are you planning for conponents? Think silver will clash with this? Something colorful might work.
